Be a Music May-ker

Could You Be an SFE Music May-ker?

SFE’s Fundraising Manager, Sarah Caldwell, discusses the powerful impact of music on our young musicians and explains how you can make a difference this May.

Music is powerful, and it can do so much for so many people. Whether it’s playing an instrument, sitting in an audience, or listening to your favourite piece of music, it has a way of bringing people together in a shared experience, whilst encouraging personal emotions and growth in participants.

Here at SFE, we believe music should be something everyone can enjoy and should be accessible to all. Through our work, we provide young musicians with opportunities to perform on amazing stages as part of our Music Ensembles.

We encourage children with special education needs to use instruments and their voices to make music, and we support children in care to build positive relationships and experiences. Music is the key ingredient in all of this.

This May, we are asking people to support our musicians by making a donation; whether you are a musician yourself, or you’ve never picked an instrument up, by making a donation you can become an SFE Music May-ker.

Your Impact as a Music May-ker:

Whatever the amount, your donation will have an impact on the work we do.

Below are a few examples of how your donation could make an impact, individually and collectively;

£10 could buy reeds and strings for a young musician.

£30 could buy a musical instrument for an SEN group.

£50 could provide an hour’s music tuition for a child in care.

£100 could provide staff to support an Inclusive Choir session.

£200 could pay for an Area Ensembles young musician place for a year.
